natural honey
Rangabelia Mahila Industrial Cooperative Society (herein after called Cooperative) procures raw honey from gatherers who traverse mangrove forests of Sunderbans (delataic region of Bengal) to earn a livelihood risking their lives to predators big and small like Royal Bengal Tigers who are born man eaters, venomous snakes, crocodiles and other wild animals.
Sting of bees are part of peril for these brave honey gatherers. They collect raw honey for weeks in deep forests and using native methods keep it pure and preventing it from being spoilt from high humidity of forests, moisture from rivers around or occasional showers. Bees extract honey from various types of flowers which bloom throughout the year in Sunderbans which enrich it with multiple nutrients of these trees.
After procuring raw honey from the gatherers, the Cooperative treats it further retaining it’s original quality for human consumption and package them in different quantities following FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India – Government of India authority that mandates food labelling norms) guidelines. The Cooperative is probably the only organisation that directly source honey from the gatherers in the region.
The Cooperative sells the packaged honey under the trade name – Bon Modhu (meaning Forest Honey) under license of FSSAI. Without waiting further place your order with us to fill yourself with the goodness of pure naturally sourced honey and also be part of the movement.
